We sat down with Kaitlin and Tim, one of our favorite couples who were married here at The Arbor Loft this past New Year’s Eve! From the very beginning, Kaitlin and Tim were on board with us. They saw our space first as a construction site and immediately took a leap of faith with Agathi and our team as their vision and our space came to life!
We talked with them specifically about planning a wedding around the holiday season, an idea many may love but feel intimidated by. So, we started from the beginning asking why they chose a New Year’s Eve wedding. As a teacher, Kaitlin has this time of year off and said the date “just organically happened”. Although much of their families are from the Rochester Area, having the few out of town guests already in town for the holidays also worked out favorably for their special day! After sharing their News Year’s Eve idea with family and friends, everyone was just as excited as they were!
Couples who are interested in a holiday wedding might be wary about finding vendors during an already busy season! We were surprised to hear Kaitlin and Tim didn’t have any trouble at all. They mentioned many of the vendors were through The Arbor Loft and everything “was pretty much smooth sailing.” We asked if there were any choices while planning a New Year’s Eve wedding they’re glad they made. Kaitlin suggested making the point to have everything figured out and in place prior to Christmas, so they could relax and enjoy their family parties before tying the knot!
Both Kaitlin and Tim agreed to make sure to have a clear timeline of events. It is extremely helpful! Being New Year’s Eve, Tim and Kaitlin decided to push the timeline back a bit in order to correlate everything perfectly with the ball drop at midnight (a must for the perfect New Year’s Eve wedding)! The ceremony, which was also hosted at The Arbor Loft, began at 7:00pm and was one of the couple’s favorite memories of the night, including a premature kiss from the eager groom!
After the wedding, Kaitlin and Tim also suggested a “mini-moon.” They spent two nights at the Roycroft Inn located in East Aurora, NY. They said it is perfect for anyone needing some quiet time after a busy holiday season, especially one with a wedding! Both the bride and groom were thrilled with their holiday wedding and the night went exactly as they imagined! They plan to take a honeymoon this summer to Banff, Canada and we are all extremely anxious to see pictures (this place looks amazing)!
We wish Kaitlin and Tim a great first year of marriage, we are so happy for them. And we hope this might inspire any other couples out there to mix things up and consider a holiday wedding!
